Description:

Built in 1875, the House of Refuge is Martin County’s oldest building and once served as a refuge for shipwreck victims. The building sits on Hutchinson Island atop the Anastasia formation rock outcropping, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. It serves as a museum chronicling the area’s shipwreck history has well as a pictorial history of the structure itself.

Open Mon. - Sat., 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.; Sun., 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
